Bottom protection Doeldok (Port of Antwerp, Belgium)
The bottom in front of the quay wall at quays 1660/1662 at the Doeldok, were to be protected to prevent erosion caused by the landing and leaving of ships. Clearance of the bottom in front of the quay wall could endanger its stability.
DEC protects the bottom in front of the quay wall with fibrous open stone asphalt® mattresses on a surface of 2.800 m².

- filling of the joints with hydro cement
Techniques and quantities
- levelling of the bottom by a plough vessel: 3.000m²
- clearance of “high spots” by a hydraulic crane on a pontoon
- bottom protection: 2.800 m²
- filling of the joints: 30m³
